Born into a family of hairstylists, my passion for hair began long before it became my profession. Inspired by my Grandmother, I started experimenting with styling on dolls before gradually moving on to family and friends, developing my craft through creativity, practice, and dedication.
My creativity comes from my roots. My Grandmother was a hairstylist, as well as a traditional Romanian dancer, musician, and artist in her own way. She played instruments, sang, and expressed her creativity through sewing, knitting, and even the art of decorating food. My Mother carries that same creative sensitivity, and through them, I inherited a deep appreciation for beauty expressed through craftsmanship and detail. There are moments when I wish my Grandmother could see the path I have followed and how her influence continues to live through my work. In many ways, I feel I am continuing what they began: transforming creativity into expression and tradition into artistry.
At 19, I left Romania to pursue my career in Nice, on the French Riviera, where I spent eight years developing my craft, including four years of formal training at a prestigious hairdressing academy. I trained in advanced cutting and coloring techniques and gained experience in renowned French salon environments, including Franck Provost and Jean Louis David. I also had the privilege of learning from talented independent salon owners who became important mentors throughout my journey.
One of these mentors was Jean-Yves, at Salon Suzishen in Vence, who earned multiple gold medals in the Meilleurs Apprentis de France (MAF) competition. Learning from a hairdresser recognized for his technical skill and dedication deepened my appreciation for the precision, discipline, and artistry of French hairdressing. These experiences helped shape my understanding of French elegance, refined technique, and effortless beauty.
During my time in France, I earned both a CAP (Certificat d’Aptitude Professionnelle) and a BP (Brevet Professionnel) in hairdressing, with additional studies in management and accounting. This education gave me a strong foundation in both the technical artistry of hair and the professional discipline required to build a lasting career in beauty.
My journey then took me across Europe and Asia, continually expanding my artistic perspective and technical versatility. In Barcelona, I refined my approach to modern, lived-in hair. In Cambodia, I worked at a Toni & Guy salon and other local salons, gaining valuable experience with different hair textures, cutting systems, and styling approaches. Working across cultures deepened my appreciation for the unique characteristics of every hair type, curl pattern, and texture, and the importance of adapting each technique to the individual.
I later brought my experience to the United States, working in Princeton, New Jersey, and Manhattan, New York, where I continued to refine my craft in high-end salon environments, developing an approach centered on personalized service, precision, and modern hair artistry.
Today, my work encompasses the full spectrum of hair artistry, from balayage, highlights, lowlights, dimensional color, and color corrections to glossing treatments, precision haircuts, personalized styling, and curly hair artistry. I work with women, men, and children, tailoring every service to each guest’s features, lifestyle, personal style, and natural hair texture.
I am particularly passionate about French-inspired coloring techniques, including Indian Sun and Brun Kashmir, which allow me to create soft, luminous, multidimensional results. Whether the goal is a subtle sun-kissed effect, a rich and sophisticated color, a complete color transformation, or a precision haircut, my approach is always thoughtful and customized.
For me, beautiful hair extends far beyond the salon. I believe in education, healthy hair practices, and helping guests understand their hair so they can care for it confidently at home. This is especially meaningful in my work with curls, where the right routine, hydration, and technique can make all the difference. I love sharing the knowledge that helps guests maintain definition, softness, and movement long after their appointment.
Every visit begins with a thoughtful consultation and continues through intentional care, personalized recommendations, and guidance designed to make each guest feel understood and confident.
Beyond hair, I draw inspiration from fashion and art. Both influence my creative eye and the way I see beauty, not simply as an appearance, but as a form of expression, identity, and individuality.
For me, success is measured not only by technique or recognition, but by the happiness and confidence of the person sitting in my chair. I believe that when you feel good about your appearance, you carry yourself differently. My role is to help bring that feeling to life through hair that reflects who you are.
At Les Papillons Studio, my goal is to create a personal, thoughtful experience where artistry meets care, and where every guest leaves feeling confident, understood, and beautifully themselves.
I look forward to welcoming you into my chair and creating something beautiful together.
